Dale over the cascades
Dale shows us how to bench up to The Cascades from Inspo. (He's just a little yellow speck in the sky towards the top left of the picture.)
Watching Dale
A captivated crowd watches.
Happy Birthday!
Dale lands after a great flight. Happy Birthday, Dale!
Olympus bail out
Someone uses the bailout LZ at Olympus. If the wind gods smile on you, you can take the 16 mile thermal flight all the way to The Point. Otherwise, you might find yourself in this tiny emergency LZ. It's not the size really, but the deceptive slope of the LZ that gets you.
The $3 Wal-Mart hat
The "three dollar Wal-Mart hat" purchased for P-1 training on hot North Carolina mountains was finally retired in Utah. Shown in its final days at the North launch on Lake Mountain.
Ant mountain
In Utah, they don't have ant hills -- they have ant mountains. They're about a foot high. This is in the LZ at Lake Mountain.
Lake Mountain flight
An in-flight shot at Lake Mountain.
Horny toad
"Hey, wanna look down my shirt?" A Horny Toad
finds a comfortable, warm home with Kathy.
The Last Supper
Another class picture -- the candid version.
